There is already a lot of interest in the guest star who will perform at the highly anticipated Super Bowl halftime show. Even those who don’t follow the sport are discussing watching the show to witness the eagerly awaited musical performance.
SZA will join Grammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar, the NFL said. A humorous video depicting SZA dousing Kendrick with a blue drink—reminiscent of what the winning team might provide their coach following a victory—was used to announce the news.
“Taking the stage with @Kendricklamar! #AppleMusicHalftime #SBLIX,” SZA captioned the photo. On February 9, the two will play at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
SZA’s admirers can’t wait to see her perform live. “Only watching the Super Bowl for sza [sic],” one person wrote. Someone else wrote, “I’m really excited.” Another admirer said, “SZA BOWL! Even if I don’t watch football, I will now! 😜 “I just heard that SZA is performing at the Super Bowl…. I WILL BE WATCHING [sic],” another person remarked.
“Kendrick knew he didn’t have enough hits to do a Super Bowl performance, so he brought along SZA,” commented a sly comment from another fan. It was the best decision he could have taken.
SZA’s career has been going pretty nicely lately. Her album “SOS Deluxe: Lana” was launched, and it has been performing incredibly well on the charts. Her movie “One of Them Days,” which stars Keke Palmer, has also gotten positive reviews. In addition, the vocalist has won four Grammy awards.
Solána Imani Rowe is known as SZA. In 2025, she received two nominations for Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song, increasing her total to 26. The singer celebrated her accomplishments on Instagram after achieving recent success, writing, “LIFE TOO SHORT TO PLAY SMALL AND NOT PRIORITIZE SELF LOVE AND SELF ACCEPTANCE! OOGLY AND GOOD BAD! God is really wonderful! You guys are amazing! A big thank you to all of my buddies ❤️🫡🫶🏾🥲 [sic].
In September 2024, Kendrick was revealed as the halftime show’s main act. Even though they will be watching from home, he invites his supporters to dress to impress when they visit him in New Orleans on February 9, 2025.
To date, the renowned rapper has won 17 Grammy awards. The most influential genre to date is undoubtedly rap music. And I’ll be there to remind everyone of the reason. In a statement, he stated, “They got the right one.”
For his album “DAMN,” he became the first musician who did not perform in a classical or jazz genre to win a Pulitzer Prize in 2017.
Like everyone else, NFL head of music Seth Dudowsky is certain that Kendrick will provide a fantastic performance. “Very few artists have had as much of an impact on music and culture as Kendrick Lamar,” he remarked.
He went on to say, “We’re thrilled to work with Kendrick, Roc Nation, and Apple Music to deliver another incredible Halftime Show.”
The Super Bowl pregame will take place before to Kendrick’s eagerly awaited performance. Ledisi will sing “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” Trombone Shorty and Lauren Daigle will perform “America the Beautiful,” and Jon Batiste will deliver the National Anthem.
Following the halftime performance, SZA and Kendrick Lamar will start their US and Canadian tour. The tour is in support of “GNX,” Kendrick’s sixth studio album.
SZA collaborated on two of the album’s tracks, which enhances her participation in the tour with him. The tour stops in Minneapolis on April 19 and closes in Washington on June 18.
