You basically consent to being the object of your spouse’s jokes when you marry a comedian.
When her husband, Colin Jost, brought it up in a Saturday Night Live (SNL) sketch, Scarlett Johansson learned this the hard way.
Jost, a 20-year veteran of Saturday Night Live as a staff writer, married Black Widow actress Scarlett Johansson in 2020.
The comic’s “Weekend Update” program is what made him and colleague comedian Michael Che most famous.
The two individuals don’t know each other’s jokes in advance, so they make them up for the part.
Johansson recently responded in the affirmative when Che asked if she would mind being named, but she had no idea how far the jokes would go.
Johansson’s responses to the statements were captured on camera during the December 21 broadcast of the program.
Her comment went viral right after since the star was clearly taken aback.
Johansson was surprised by a joke about her vagina.
In reference to his son with Johansson, Jost said, “The roast beef sandwich is no longer available at Costco. I’m not tripping, though.Since my wife gave birth, I’ve been eating roast beef every night.
Johansson was aware that a vaginal joke would be made, but she and the audience weren’t prepared for it.
When Johansson appeared on TODAY With Jenna & Friends earlier this week, she went into further detail about her response.
The host, Jenna Bush Hager, mentioned a great Saturday Night Live sketch that aired last month.
Bush Hager said they couldn’t broadcast much of the event because it was too risqué and unfit for daytime television, and Johansson added, “It got so vulgar.”
The actor continued by saying that she was informed of the jokes and references, and that she told the SNL staff, “I don’t want to be canceled or divorced.” “Those are my limits.”
“Honestly, Jenna, I felt like it was like To Catch a Predator when the lights kind of came on me and suddenly there was a whole audience,” the Marriage Story star recounted when the jokes were spoken while she was being filmed.
“Luckily,” she remarked, “the A-lister was currently holding a very strong drink.”
Emma Stone, who was also present in the SNL studio at the time, called the comments “not OK.”
“My eyes were watering, my hands were shaking, and my heart was pounding.” Regarding his experience, Johansson remarked, “It was very surreal.”
