Avoiding these behaviors is crucial since they can quickly lead to a stroke. To help avoid strokes, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Quang of the Military Medical Academy has encouraged everyone to stop some bad morning habits.

1. Many people have a habit of jumping out of bed first thing in the morning. Health professionals warn that this practice can raise the risk of a stroke in the early hours of the morning.

Dr. Quang cautions against the tendency to get up as soon as you wake up. Our parasympathetic nervous system is in charge when we sleep, which results in a slower heartbeat, softer contractions, and lower blood pressure than when we’re awake.

The sympathetic nervous system is activated when you abruptly get up, which causes the heart to beat more forcefully and quickly, raising blood pressure. This abrupt alteration may increase the risk of a hemorrhagic stroke by placing stress on the brain’s tiny blood vessels.

Dr. Quang advises taking a moment to lie still for one to two minutes after waking up in order to reduce this danger. Before you get out of bed, give your face, head, eyes, and neck a little massage to help you settle into your day more easily.

02. As soon as you wake up, start your day with a glass of diluted salt water.

This method has gained popularity since many people think it has great antibacterial properties, helps get rid of oral bacteria, and strengthens teeth and gums.

Consequently, it’s best to keep your consumption to 200–300 ml. Additionally, instead of waiting until you’re thirsty, try to sip water throughout the morning.
