The 74-year-old comedian, who was the main attraction at the first amfAR Las Vegas benefit event on November 22, said he is doing well even though he recently fell down a hill in Pennsylvania and badly hurt his face, chest, and wrist.
The host told reporters on the red carpet, “I’m feeling good. I broke my wrist, but I’m all right.”
At the Wynn Las Vegas gala celebrating Sylvester Stallone and his wife Jennifer Flavin Stallone, the former Tonight Show host seemed to hide his injuries on his face with makeup.
This week, Leno told TMZ that he tripped while trying to get to a nearby diner at the base of his hotel, which Inside Edition said was a Hampton Inn about 30 miles outside of Pittsburgh.
“Since I didn’t have a car, you had to walk about a mile and a half to get to the restaurant.” “Well, the hill doesn’t look that steep,” I replied. It’s about 60 to 70 feet long. “Let me try to get down the hill,” he said, and then he fell.
“Boom, boom, boom!” Leno told the story, “I fell down the hill, hit my eye on a rock, and hurt myself.”
Leno didn’t talk about his look or the fall while he was hosting the show in Las Vegas. Instead, he focused on the script and raising money for AIDS research.
People like Michael Fassbender, Jodie Turner-Smith, Tommy Hilfiger, and other famous people and high rollers were in the room when Leno spoke. Two people paid $75,000 each to see tours of his famous car garage while he helped sell off cars.
He said, “I get to go there for free.”
A news release said that the Stallones also got the amfAR Award of Inspiration for “their generous support of amfAR’s lifesaving work, in addition to many other causes related to health, education, and women’s rights.”
