A San Francisco 49ers player is sad about the death of their 23-month-old daughter.
The safety for the 49ers, Charvarius Ward, said on October 29 that his daughter, Amani Joy, had died. His girlfriend Monique Cook and he have a daughter together. The girl was about to turn two years old.
“It breaks our hearts to say that our sweet little girl Amani Joy died on Monday morning.” For Ward, she was the best gift he could have asked for, and her happiness made him smile all the way to his chin.
“We learned from her to be patient, trust, and have a good attitude about life.” We saw how strong and brave she really was. She got through hard times when she was young and was always happy. Her smile lit up every room.
SFGate says that Amani was told she had Down syndrome and a heart problem while she was still in the womb. Five weeks early, she had surgery on her heart before she was six months old.
In honor of World Down Syndrome Day earlier this year, Ward wrote an Instagram post about his daughter.
“Amani Joy Ward is the best thing that ever happened to me.” “I used to think having Down syndrome was a bad thing, but now I see it as a gift from God,” he wrote.
“Being Amani’s dad has taught me to be patient and to give up and let go of things.” We couldn’t change the fact that she might have had Trisomy 21, but we could change how we felt about it.
The 49ers also said they were there for Ward and his family in a statement.
The 49ers wrote, “The 49ers family is devastated by the sudden death of Charvarius Ward’s beloved one-year-old daughter, Amani Joy.” “Amani was truly pure happiness. Her sweet personality and contagious laugh made everyone around her happy.”
