The idea that safeguarding our children becomes our top responsibility from the moment they are born is one that I believe every parent would concur with.
We go to tremendous measures to keep our children safe because the thought of them getting sick or hurt is frequently unimaginable. The majority of us don’t even give it any thought; instead, it’s an instinct that takes over the moment we see our child.
Sadly, the world frequently has different views, and even with the strictest due diligence, mistakes can and will happen.
Most parents will be terrified the day something happens that they can’t stop, especially if it’s an accident or experience they couldn’t have predicted.
Jackie Fedro is quite knowledgeable about that. Even though her daughter’s horrific experience happened in 2016, we believe it is still worth telling today.
BuzzFeed claims that Jackie made the decision to let her 13-year-old daughter Gabbie have her own phone in 2016. Gabbie was given an LG D500 for Christmas.
Jackie told BuzzFeed, “We finally gave in and got her a cell phone so we can stay in touch with her more with her crazy practice schedule.”
However, what transpired was a nightmare that none of them could have anticipated. One day, Jackie heard Gabbie cry while she was in her room using her phone.
Jackie remembered, “After it [happened], she came running downstairs, grabbing her neck.” “She was screaming hysterically because she was in so much pain.”
“Watching your child scream in agony and not knowing how to help her is the worst feeling in the world as a mother.” Before she could even tell us what had happened, it took her a full five minutes.
Gabbie admitted to her mother that she had been using her phone while it was charging. After receiving an electric shock, the 13-year-old’s neck was burned as the electricity passed through her phone, up the charging wire, and into her metal necklace.
“She suffered excruciating second-degree burns and will now have a scar all the way around her neck,” Jackie told BuzzFeed.
Speaking about the worrying event, Jackie asked other parents to think about the risks associated with telephones that aren’t often understood or even mentioned.
Jackie remarked, “Parents need to be warned about the harm that they can cause because so many kids use phones these days.”
How horrifying! Have you previously heard of something similar occurring? I most definitely hadn’t.
