Jonna Jinton made the decision to pursue her passion a little more than ten years ago.

She was raised in the Swedish metropolis of Gothenburg, but when she turned 21, she packed up her belongings and traveled 600 miles north into Sweden’s dense forests.

Many people have aspirations of abandoning everything and relocating to the tranquility of the countryside, and Jonna fulfilled this goal.

She relocated to the small, ten-person settlement of Grundtjarn in northern Sweden, where her ancestors had once resided.

Now that she lives so near to nature, Jonna focuses on her true interest, which is making art. She takes pictures of Mother Nature’s wonders and enchanted moments every day, both during the day and at night.

Her sources of inspiration are very discernible.

For me, the most valuable possession I possess is nature. “I get all of my inspiration from that connection,” Jonna said to the Swedish website Expressen.

The talented 29-year-old has amassed millions of viewers on her inspirational and sometimes humorous videos on life in northern Sweden. At the moment, she has 1.6 million YouTube subscribers.

A new clip from Jonna was released earlier this fall. It discusses the fall and winter cold in Sweden. Jonna claims in the video that she was sick most of the time last year because of the cold, but she is certain that this winter will be different.

Enter the freezing water.

You have to face the Swedish weather if you want to push yourself. Jonna routinely bathes at a local lake because she thinks it will make her stronger.

The video shows her descending into the freezing water for the first time. Although everything is peaceful and quiet, Jonna appears to be having trouble breathing due to the chilly water up to her neck when she turns around.

Walking into ice-cold water makes me feel a thousand times more alive, and I can feel my blood pumping through my body, doing everything it can to keep me alive. In the video, Jonna states, “I am totally present right now.”
