A YouTube video gained popularity in 2017. It showed Sinbad, an African Grey parrot, peacefully perched on his owner’s arm. Sinbad could see why it was not a normal day. He had spent the last twenty-five years with his owner, who was dying. For their final goodbye, a woman who might have been the dying mother’s daughter led Sinbad to her hospital bed.
Although parrots occasionally chew on their owners’ fingers, Sinbad was unusually gentle. This is especially true now as his friend is getting close to the end of his life. He makes no noise as he settles securely on his owner’s arm. As the woman lay there, practically motionless, Sinbad massaged her stomach. While Sinbad merely waited for her to say farewell, she stared blankly into the distance.

After that, she speaks to Sinbad, who listens and looks at her. She questioned Sinbad, “Will you be alright?” Then she acknowledged his feelings. She told her mother, “He’s really depressed.” “He’s waking up now; he’s right there at your chest.” When a few seconds had gone by, the girl asks her mother, “Will you greet him?”
At last, the dying woman finds the strength to gaze at her beloved feathery companion. The bond between her and Sinbad is amazing. You can definitely hear her say, Sinbad, “I love you,” even if she mumbles because she is tired. The parrot Sinbad puts his foot on her breast and nods his head in agreement with what she said. It seems like he’s bowing good-by.
African Grey parrots are renowned for their exceptional intelligence and voice imitation skills.
