After icily serenading former President Donald Trump with her song “Don’t Lie to Me,” Barbara Streisand once more attacks the “tyrant,” declaring that she will leave the country if the Republican front-runner for 2024 is re-elected.
In a recent interview with Stephen Colbert, the singer and actor called the four-time indicted Trump “so stupid” and “ill-informed,” saying, “I can’t live in this country if he becomes president.”
She is not the first celebrity to have broken their promises to move to Canada, Europe, or even Jupiter following Trump’s 2016 victory, though, and this is not the first time she has made that threat.
When the 81-year-old gem Barbra Streisand exclaimed, “Yes, Mr. Trump, let’s make America great again,” she wasn’t intending to be a Funny Girl. First things first, though: America was fantastic before you were elected.
The seasoned Democratic donor and supporter isn’t afraid to voice her disapproval of the former president, calling him “the Liar in Chief, the Groper in Chief.”
Inspired by the reality show star who became president of the United States, the EGOT (who has won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony) released her 36th album, “Walls,” in 2018.

“Why does the outspokenness of artists anger so many people?” Babs queries. According to Streisand, artists can act as “a nation’s conscience.” In addition to reflecting the times, their work occasionally pushes us to recognize things that others would rather overlook. By speaking up when no one else will, they can provide voice to those who lack it.
“That is why art is the enemy of tyrants and dictators,” she continues.
Unfortunately, the electorate was not swayed by her strong voice.
“The planet has gone crazy.”
The Prince of Tides star told the Australian 60 Minutes that “he has no facts” before to the 2016 elections. I’m not sure; it’s unbelievable. If you don’t mind, I’ll either travel to Canada or your nation [Australia].
However, Streisand wasn’t the first A-list star to declare that if Trump were elected, they would leave the country.
According to The Wrap, comedian George Lopez made a joke about returning to Mexico: “We’ll all return if [Trump] wins and he doesn’t have to worry about immigration.”
The day after Trump defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton, Chelsea Handler, who had declared her intention to depart, changed her mind. “My staff reminded me yesterday that leaving the country is quitting; platforms and voices like mine are needed more than ever.”
Other celebs, meanwhile, came up with more inventive ways to get away.
“I would consider getting in a rocket and going to another planet, because clearly this planet has gone bonkers,” joked comedian and talk show host Jon Stewart.
Cher also tweeted, “I’m moving to Jupiter if he gets elected.”
After Trump
The star of 1983’s Yentl told People of President Joe Biden that “the country is certainly headed in the right direction” after spending “four years in a dark hole.” “I love Biden,” the 2021 interview goes on to say. I adore his honesty, sincerity, compassion, and preference for reality above fantasy.
We have been pulled into the muck of Trump’s swamp since 2016. In an editorial for Variety, she claims that “his ridiculous arrogance and astounding ignorance have destroyed our reputation in the world.”
“Restore the nobleness of truth.”
Now that Trump is the obvious Republican front-runner, Streisand is expressing her worries about the approaching elections.
The iconic singer and actor told host Stephen Colbert during an appearance on The Late Show that she would not put up with living in a nation run by the guy she had previously referred to as “so stupid” and “so ill-informed.”
“If he becomes president, I can’t live in this country,” Streisand declared, adding that she would most likely move to England since “I like England.”
Trump is a man who has never once accepted accountability for his own deeds, instead choosing to place the blame elsewhere when he is at fault. Because of his Republican enablers, he has once again evaded accountability, so even impeachment hasn’t humbled him,” she says.
“We need a new America free of pollution, profanity, insults, and retaliation. The nobility of truth must be restored.and America won’t be great again till then.
Streisand will need to move fast if she decides to return to Canada as a possible new residence because Republicans are also asking for the construction of a wall along the country’s border.
