This actor requested his uncle, a well-known director in Hollywood, for the opportunity to star in one of his critically acclaimed films when he was just 15 years old, while they were sitting in a car.

Show me an acting exam, and I’ll give it to you. “There was only silence in the car,” the eccentric celebrity, who is proud of his oddball persona, stated.

The actor made his own way to fame at the age of 17, landing a small part in the cult beloved coming-of-age film Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982).

Born Nicholas Kim Coppola in 1962, Nicholas Cage states, “I was the target of jokes because my name was still Coppola.”

Because of Apocalypse Now, people would not stop uttering things like, “I love the smell of Nicolas in the morning.”and it made it difficult to work, so I changed it to Cage and said, “I don’t need this,” the actor says, explaining why he decided to shed the last name that had linked him to well-known relative Francis Ford Coppola.

He continues, “It’s a combination of Luke Cage from Marvel comics, who was a character I liked, also named Power Man, and John Cage, the avant-garde composer,” when he explains why he selected Cage. Says a thousand words about everything I have done since.

In 1983’s Valley Girl, he starred in his first film with the last name Cage. He claimed that the obscurity of the character felt like a “weight coming off my body.”

“Whoa, this is really doable.” And that experience freed me up,” he says to Hollywood Reporter. And Valley Girl makes it clear that I’m free. He alludes to his role in his uncle’s 1983 picture Rumble Fish when he says, “Whereas in Fast Times, or even Rumble Fish, I’m somewhat stuck.”

As a result of his back-to-back roles during the ensuing years, Cage gained recognition as one of Hollywood’s most sought-after performers.

He was nominated for two Golden Globes in 1988: Moonstruck (starring Cher) and Honeymoon in Vegas (starring Sarah Jessica Parker).

In addition, he met Christina Fulton, an actor who gave birth to his first son, Weston Coppola Cage, in December 1990. Cage later played a younger version of his father in the 2014 movie Rage.

Oscar-winning actor Cage, who starred in Leaving Las Vegas in 1995, is also parents to two children: August Francesca (born in 2022) and Kal-El (born Superman’s birth name), who was born in 2005 with his third wife Alice Kim.

Notable marriages to Patricia Arquette (1995–2001) and Lisa Marie Presley (2002) preceded Cage’s 2002 divorce filing, which was finalized a few months later.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent actor believes that family is “first and foremost” in an interview with People.

“There isn’t a true Nick Cage who doesn’t enjoy spending time with his kids. The star of Raising Arizona asserts that there has never been a Nick Cage who did not prioritize his family over his job.

“I needed to be at home with my son Weston, so I turned down both Lord of the Rings and Matrix,” he continues. “I didn’t want to go to New Zealand or Australia for three years.”

“Was once on a plane with [Nicholas Cage] and his son and a seat had also been purchased for his son’s imaginary friend,” the actor Minnie Driver stated, providing evidence for the claim.

Even now, the actor from Adaptation maintains a close relationship with his kids and his two grandsons, Sorin (2016) and Lucian (2014), whom he shares with his second wife.

After leading two heavy metal bands, Weston can now create music, sing, act, sculpt, and cook, and he is also a devoted father, according to Cage. “The closest thing I’ve ever had to a feeling of blissful completion is seeing my son with my grandson.”

The 33-year-old D-Day star is also the father of twin daughters, Cyress and Venice, who were born in 2020 to his third ex-wife, Hila Arounian. He has been married three times.

However, none of the children know anyone from their well-known Hollywood family.

Hila was given “sole legal and physical custody of their twin daughters…with Weston getting no visitation rights” after a contentious divorce in 2021, according to TMZ.

Weston’s mother Christina provides the U.S. Sun with an explanation of the upsetting specifics, stating that Hila has instigated a “hostile environment” that encompasses “a request for a restraining order against her seeing the kids that was dismissed” in 2023.

“As a refined, polite Hollywood family, we are horrified and stunned that Hila could do something of this nature. Not getting to visit these youngsters is heartbreaking. Regarding the “smear campaign” Hila started against her family, Christina states, “Nicolas and I haven’t been able to meet our two beautiful little granddaughters since they were born.” We’re having a terrible, calm nightmare. It’s crazy, excruciating, hurtful, and destructive. My son has a lovely relationship with his boys, and I have a fantastic relationship with my two tiny boy grandchildren.

“Not meeting the girls is painful, hurtful, and shocking,” Christina continues.

Hila defends herself by posting a statement on Facebook in which she claims that her ex-boyfriend was “weaponizing influence, wealth,” cheating on her multiple times, and using the court system against her.

In addition, she refers to Weston’s mental health issues and addictions when she names Christina a “sabotaging mother” and Cage a “enabling father” who “consistently hindered his progress.”

Hila merely states that Weston’s “behavior became a physical threat to our daughters and me, as well as our emotional well-being,” without mentioning anything about refusing the family visitation with the twins.

The Cage/Coppola family isn’t backing down, according to Christina: “Our family’s resilience is tested in these trying times.” However, we are still dedicated to conquering these obstacles and bringing peace back to our family.
