The adored “The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg shocked the crowd by leaving the stage during a recent live performance. The controversy surrounding singer Miranda Lambert, who called off one of her concerts to chastise fans for taking photographs during the performance, served as the impetus for the incident. Even though Goldberg didn’t intend to leave the show and her walk-off was meant to be humorous, it certainly generated a lot of conversation.
For those who are unaware, Miranda Lambert sparked a controversy when she chastised fans for snapping selfies during her performance. Even though it’s normal for concertgoers to take pictures, post them on social media, or save them as mementos, Lambert took offense at that. The co-hosts of “The View” got into a contentious debate on the circumstance, disputing whether Lambert was correct to call out the fans or whether selfies should be permitted at concerts.
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin made an effort to hear both sides of the debate. She contended that Lambert shouldn’t be making fun of people in public for paying a high price to watch her play, particularly if those people were only snapping photos and causing no trouble.
Goldberg entered the fray at this point and advised the audience to behave with a little decency by not taking pictures while the act was in progress. The people paid to see Lambert sing, Goldberg underlined, so they need to respect her presence and let her see them as well.
Another co-host, Sara Haines, brought up the fact that the fans Lambert reprimanded were sitting near to the stage. But does it excuse the well-known singer from publicly criticizing them, making a disturbance, and interfering with the performance? When Sunny Hostin made a statement about the pricey VIP seats for the show, it appeared that she agreed with Goldberg. “The expensive tickets in the VIP section that they were in are $757,” Hostin said. If I were to pay $757, I would take as many selfies as I pleased. Sorry, just me. Even while shooting a ton of selfies all night long would be excessive, it makes sense that fans would want some mementos from their pricey musical experience.
When Hostin provoked Goldberg by saying that those who can’t stop taking selfies should just “stay home,” the argument got even more heated. In an attempt to prove her argument, Goldberg walked over to the live audience and took a selfie with a member of the public. It’s debatable if her demonstration was successful in supporting her claims.
The viral video of Whoopi Goldberg’s “The View” walk-off moment captivated viewers and sparked debates about concert selfie policies. Although there is still controversy concerning Miranda Lambert’s behavior, it is obvious that viewers were deeply affected by Goldberg’s amusing gesture.
