Sadly, Naomi Pomeroy, who was well-known for her cooking abilities on Top Chef, has passed away.
The Portland chef was reported missing a few days earlier, and on July 17, his body was discovered in a river. Her death by drowning has been confirmed by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the investigation, Pomeroy, her husband Kyle Linden Webster, and a buddy were tied up in tubes and a connected paddleboard.
The other two adults were successfully removed by Corvallis Fire Department members from the coast and taken to a boat launch. Sadly, the sheriff’s office reports that Pomeroy was not initially found.

Sheriff Van Arsdall declared, “This office is dedicated to locating Naomi and bringing her home to her family and loved ones,” at the time of her disappearance. I would want to express my gratitude to everyone who helped in the search and rescue effort at this trying time.
When a group of canoeists noticed her body, it was eventually located. Officials claim that the paddle board leash prevented her from releasing herself.

Pomeroy was a well-known person in the culinary world of Oregon. She established herself in Portland following the 2007 launch of Beast, her debut eatery. She was named one of Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs two years later.
She opened the Expatriate cocktail bar in Portland with her spouse in 2013. She won the James Beard Award for Best Chef: Northwest and Pacific the next year.
Pomeroy was a guest judge on Top Chef in seasons 10, 15, and 18, and she has made appearances on Iron Chef and Top Chef Masters.
