German shepherd was left to die in canyon with mouth zip-tied shut — hikers rescue him

A distraught German shepherd on the route with its lips taped shut with a zip tie startled two hikers. The dog is now in good hands, and the police are looking for the owner.

On July 3, two rock climbers discovered an upsetting sight while exploring a lonely region close to Malibu Creek Canyon: a distraught 7-year-old German shepherd with his snout tied shut with a zip tie.

They took the time to earn the dog’s trust before stopping to assist him and removing the zip tie. When they fed him and opened his lips, the dog warmed up to them.

Hiker Jonathan Manaoat said of the dog, “He is such a sweet dog. My friend and I were able to pet him, and he even took some of our food off of our hands.”

The dog’s victimization was shocking to them. Manaoat told the publication, “Someone did this intentionally.” They abandoned him at the side of the road, down a hill in the middle of nowhere. They abandoned him in agony. They abandoned him, thinking him dead.

Along with inflammation and warts all over his body, the dog may have come into contact with poison oak.

After receiving a report, deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department took the dog to the Palmdale Animal Care Center so that it could be treated. After that, he was given over to the Agoura Animal Center of Los Angeles County Animal Care & Control.

As per a press statement issued by In Defense of Animals, the dog, who goes by Argon, is presently having examinations to rule out lymphoma. Argon has been a kind and gentle dog who has been loved and cared for despite everything.

Although the person who tied Argon’s muzzle and abandoned him in the middle of nowhere on that sweltering summer day is still a mystery, animal organizations have banded together to offer a sizable prize to anyone who comes forward with information regarding the crime.

According to the press announcement, In Defense of Animals, Peace 4 Animals, and Hollywood producer Marc Gurvitz are all offering a $12,000 reward for information. We are asking anyone with information on this case to call 415-879-6879.

“We appreciate the prompt actions taken by these hikers and law enforcement, but we still need to keep up our efforts,” In Defense of Animals Communications Director Fleur Dawes stated. “Argon was abandoned in a secluded area to suffer and perish. We implore anyone with knowledge of this heinous deed to come forward. We’re committed to track out the perpetrator of this horrifying abuse and bring them to justice because they pose a threat to others.

The crime of dumping an innocent German Shepherd with his mouth tied in sweltering heat over the weekend of July 4th is abhorrent and cruel. The guilty person needs to be apprehended as soon as possible and brought to the greatest extent of the law. You can be sure that justice will be served. stated Katie Cleary, the creator of World Animal News and Peace 4 Animals.
