When Justin Timberlake’s Forget Tomorrow World Tour stopped at the TD Garden, Bostonians had plenty to speak about. Justin is our favorite pop prince and occasionally a wandering woodsman. Imagine him performing, complete with that sly smile, and you’ll get the mood of the evening.
Yes, as you predicted. In the middle of his exuberant performance, Timberlake cracked a joke that appeared to allude to his previous gaffe, the infamous DWI arrest.
Laughing and chatting
With easy charisma, Timberlake asked the crowd, “Is there anyone here tonight that is driving and… no, I’m just kidding.” The almost 20,000-strong crowd burst into laughs and cheers. Then, Timberlake changed the subject and enquired, “Is there anyone here tonight that is attending the event for the first time? Does anyone here have tickets to at least one, two, three, or perhaps four of our shows?
The Touching Moment
Going on to a more somber tone, Timberlake said to those attending their first concert, “I hope that you feel the fellowship and the love for all of you that it’s your first time tonight.” He continued by thinking back on his extensive relationship with the fans and sincerely admitting his mistakes from the past. “For those of you that have been with me through all the weird haircuts… don’t act like y’all didn’t have bad haircuts!” he said. I grabbed one for the group. For the team, perhaps three or four, but who’s counting? You folks have been together for nearly thirty years, nevertheless.
Oh, the nostalgia. Yes, that is a beautiful thing.
Yes, that arrest for DWI
Now, about the matter of driving while inebriated. On June 18, Timberlake was taken into custody in Sag Harbor, New York, after allegedly running a stop sign and failing to stay in his designated lane. Typical actions of a troublemaker, yes? He went so far as to tell the investigators, “I followed my friends home after having one martini.”
Although July 26 is his scheduled court hearing, don’t expect to see him there. His lawyer will be filling in for the pop star while he is on tour in Europe. To put it simply, JT knows what’s important.
Forward-Looking
What kind of atmosphere exists in the Timberlake-Biel home? According to a source, Timberlake and his spouse Jessica Biel aren’t bothered about little things and are instead concentrating on their professions and families. The arrest has been forgotten, as if it were a small fashion malfunction. Ever the encouraging wife, Biel was seen having a great time dancing at Timberlake’s Madison Square Garden performance on June 25. Well, love and music seem to conquer all.
