Viewers couldn’t help but notice Wahlberg’s cross-shaped mole on his forehead throughout the conversation. This potent emblem stands for his involvement in Lent, the period of preparation and spiritual contemplation before Easter.

Wahlberg gave an explanation of his attitude to Lent when asked about it, saying that it’s about letting go of bad habits in order to promote spiritual development. He said that from Ash Wednesday until Good Friday, he would be fasting and would only eat once. Through this practice, he strengthens his relationship with God and is able to concentrate on what really important.

Wahlberg is unique because of his sincere effort to respect other people’s beliefs while sharing his own. He is an inspiration for remaining loyal to oneself and accepting what’s most important in a field where religion isn’t always accepted.
