I chose to teach my husband a lesson after he gifted me a hair dye for my silver hair on our 30th wedding anniversary.
One privilege that not everyone has is the ability to age. I used to tell myself that whenever my hair started to go gray. It was difficult first. And I fought my fears, but I eventually came to enjoy my salt-and-pepper hair when others started praising it.
Our thirty-first wedding anniversary was approaching, and since it was such a significant occasion, I wanted to make it unforgettable.
I asked our favorite restaurant to hold a table for Deon and gave him a lovely watch. He observed me intently as I dressed for the evening.
With an enigmatic smile on his lips, he answered, “Nothing, Eve.” “At supper, you’ll see. For you, I have a surprise!
Whoa, a surprise? I’m excited! With a mixture of curiosity and thrill, I answered.

I could only assume that since Deon had previously given me such amazing gifts, he would strive to outdo himself for our anniversary.
I could have, however, chuckled at my own folly.
Everything was flawless when we got to the restaurant. It was the ideal scene for a significant evening—soft jazz, candles, and red roses in the center of the table.
With a smile, my spouse remarked, “Let’s order first,” pointing to the menu. “As usual, I’ll handle the steak. You as well? the salmon?
With a nod. We were so at ease with one another now. Every move seemed like a practiced routine even if it appeared easy.
Deon handed me a small gift bag and said, “Here you go.” “I assumed you would enjoy it. and thank you for it.
