I’ve searched everywhere on the floor where I think the door would open, and I can access the sewing room from the opposite side.
but can’t seem to find the little door’s back! It’s painted over and has an almost locked feel about it. Although there is a sophisticated laundry chute system in this house, it looks too little for this to be a part of.
There is a closet and a bathroom, neither of which are adjacent to this peculiar small architectural detail, indicating that this room was obviously designed as a bedroom.
