Creator of Pawn Stars Rick Harrison is in mourning following the untimely death of his son Adam Harrison, who died on Friday, January 19.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal was informed by Adam’s representative Laura Herlovich that the 39-year-old sadly died from an overdose.
TMZ broke the initial story about Adam’s death, but details about the incident—such as when and where the overdose happened—are still unknown. An investigation into his premature passing has been launched by the Las Vegas Metro Police Department.
Herlovich issued a succinct statement on behalf of the Harrison family, expressing their deep sorrow over Adam’s passing: “Our family is extremely saddened by the death of Adam.” We beg for discretion while we process his passing.
Adam was Corey Harrison’s younger brother because he was the second child of Rick Harrison from his first marriage to Kim. Later on, Rick remarried Tracy, and the two of them have a son named Jake.
Adam supposedly worked at the family’s company, Gold & Silver Pawn, prior to the 2009 premiere of the popular reality series Pawn Stars, which stars both Rick and Corey. But in recent years, he had not been as involved in the pawn store.
Rick sent a touching homage to his son on Instagram following the news of Adam’s overdose. Rick posted a picture of himself and Adam grinning at a bar with the caption, “You will always be in my heart! Adam, I adore you. ”
Adam and his elder brother Corey were very close, and Corey also shared his sorrows on Instagram. In his post, Corey shared a painful photo of himself clutching a picture of the two brothers together while they were kids playing in a bathtub. “Wax wtf I will always love you bubba,” was the caption he posted.
The unexpected death of Adam has shocked the Pawn Stars family and supporters and serves as more evidence of the terrible consequences of substance usage and the toll it can take on not only the addict but also their loved ones.
At this sad moment, we are offering the Harrison family our condolences and prayers.
