Miranda Lambert kept quiet about the whole thing following her divorce from spouse Blake Shelton. She didn’t say anything or start any arguments at all.
The country music star talked to CBS News about the extreme public and media scrutiny she faced after her divorce.
“I didn’t know how to handle that. No one is, in my opinion. And sometimes it’s not good, but you have to take it with a grain of salt, she added.
“I’m a singer-songwriter, so fortunately I can tell my whole truth,” she continued. I’m not going to lie in my music.
After five years of marriage, the pair decided to end their union in 2015. Soon after, each of them started dating someone else. Shelton later married fellow Voice coach Gwen Stefani, while Lambert married Brendan McLoughlin in 2019.
People were stunned to learn about the couple’s divorce. “This is not the future we envisioned, and it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately,” they said in a joint statement.
“We are real people with real lives, real family, friends, and coworkers,” the statement continues. As a result, we respectfully request your understanding and privacy in this very private situation.
Onstage at CMT’s 100 Greatest Duets Concert in 2005, Lambert and Shelton first crossed paths. Shelton was still wed to Kaynette Gern at the time.
Lambert said, “I didn’t know if it was just initial butterflies,” while discussing how she fell in love with Shelton. When asked about their first meeting, Miranda subsequently stated, “I don’t know what it was,” in a 2011 interview. “It was simply this pull toward one another.”
The country singer spoke to the media about her relationship with Shelton before to their split, stating, “I’m not sunshine and roses.” There is no one happier on the globe than Blake. He rescues me from the shadows. It is literally the finest thing about being married.
While Lambert was performing on ABC’s Good Morning America, she ran into Brendan McLoughlin, her current husband, who was working security for the New York Police Department. The Pistol Annies, Lambert’s band, made the decision to introduce the two and act as a matchmaker.
Following this in 2018, the pair discreetly tied the knot in the following year. “I feel like I’ve been through enough in my life to know what I don’t want, so when I know what I do want, I snatch it right up,” Lambert wrote on Valentine’s Day, announcing her marriage.
The country music star disclosed, “My girlfriends, the Annies, saw him and knew I might be ready to hang out with someone.” “They invited him to our performance without telling me. They took him for granted.
“Tom, my security guy, was also in on it. “He’s here,” he said to me. And he’s cute,” she remarked, chuckling. The couple got married three months after their first meeting! But Lambert didn’t divulge the details until three weeks following their wedding. “I wanted to share some news in honor of Valentine’s Day,” she wrote in a social media post. My life’s love has arrived. On February 16, the singer posted on Instagram and Twitter, saying, “And we got married!” “My heart is overflowing. I’m grateful that Brendan Mcloughlin loved me for who I am.
The country music artist kept everything under wraps because her previous marriage to Blake Shelton was widely reported. “I was married before, and it was a huge wedding and everything was very public,” the singer stated. It wasn’t for everyone else, she continued, adding that it was also the case with my divorce. This is how I really live. I was determined to keep my relationship with Brendan as secret as possible for as long as possible.
