When Zoey was diagnosed with cancer, she was just three years old.
She was lively and constantly on the go before illness struck, just like a lot of other kids who were raised in loving families.
She was happy, fun, and nice.
Playing one day, Zoey stumbled. She lost the ability to use both hands a few weeks later, as reported by CBS8.
When Zoey’s family sensed something was wrong, they immediately transported her to the hospital.
Upon their arrival, they were given a message they would never forget and would always hold dear.
Their cherished little girl, so full of life and love, had DIPG, the doctor informed them, a rare and dangerous brain tumor.
“We had no idea where to go or what to do. It’s essentially a death sentence, we were informed,” mother Casey told Daily Mail.
A tragedy and a nightmare one would never want on their worst enemy will befall the family.
But they held themselves together and tried to be strong for Zoey’s sake. Zoey would undergo multiple cancer treatments over the next two years.
The family located a German center where Zoey had good results with radiation therapy. But eventually, she stopped answering.
Her symptoms worsened more quickly. The unimaginable was going to occur.
In her American home, Zoey quietly departed this life on July 4, 2018.
Although the family was inevitably devastated by her impending death, her parents recognized just in time that they would have a few priceless last moments together.
Zoey spread happiness right up until the last minutes of her life. Before it was too late, her parents urged all of their friends and family to visit her at home.
Her mother has now bravely chosen to post the family’s final Facebook moment together.
“I shared it because, despite the pain, we see it as a beautiful moment,” Casey said in a Daily Mail interview.

The family dog joined them as they took a seat on the couch. They had sung Disney tunes all day long. A television movie featuring Harry Potter was shown. And then, out of the quiet, the tranquility, Zoey vanished out of nowhere.

Approximately halfway through the film, Zoey’s heart stopped.
“At first, I didn’t think I was going to share it, but I had witnessed a few families sharing memories.However, I thought, “I want that kind of picture taken.” She said, “I want those moments to be preserved so I can remember them forever, even when my brain fails.”
The family now wants to share the hope and light that Zoey gave the world all those years before she passed away on the Facebook page Zoey’s Light. One typical day at a time, they hope Zoey will encourage others to support one another and to love one another completely and sincerely.
Neither a parent would ever have to go through what Caseby and Ben did.
You two have been the most wonderful parents ever, Casey and Ben. I shall always pray. Now, Zoey is an angel watching over the rest of us.
