The Ribeiro family has been in the news lately due to a sad accident that injured their 4-year-old daughter, Ava.
The host of Dancing with the Stars disclosed that their young daughter’s recovery is expected to take many months.
Although the family is going through a trying moment due to Alfonso’s 52nd birthday this year, getting Ava well remains their first goal.
It has been reported that the young girl needed emergency surgery on Friday, May 12, to prevent any potential scarring after she fell off her sit-down scooter the day before her fourth birthday.
Alfonso shared pictures of his daughter’s injuries on social media, praising the medical team at Kare MD Skin Health and expressing his satisfaction in Ava’s fortitude despite the terrible burns and bruises all over her right elbow, shoulder, and eye.
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star wrote, “Not the kind of day you want the day before turning 4,” in an Instagram photo. With the hopes of lowering the risk of [scarring], I would want to sincerely thank [Kare MD Skin Health] for the emergency care and surgery. My little girl’s bravery throughout the treatment makes me really proud of her.
Ava’s mother Angela provided more information on the accident, stating that she had a strong sense that Ava would be in danger earlier in the morning.
As we were getting ready for Ava’s birthday celebration, I told the family, kids, sitter, and friends that “we are not doing anything crazy or dangerous today that could potentially end up with an ER visit.” When I said these words, I practically caused everyone to look at me.
But, it’s clear that not everyone heeded Angela’s warning since shortly after she made her declaration, Ava fell from her scooter.
After the incident, Ava was escorted to see Dr. Raffy and Kare MD Skin Health after hours in an effort to lessen the likelihood that she would later get scars.
“She was a trooper, but not a fun way to spend your last day as a three-year-old,” Angela continued.
“Adding a few extra cuddles to this adorable girl tonight.”
After a few days, Angela shared pictures of her kid with cuts on her arms and face. Alfonso then made an appearance on Live With Kelly and Mark to give a summary of what had happened.
The father remarked, “So, it was a very stressful weekend.” “They had to scalpel off all the skin because she fell and had basically road rash on her face and arm,” he continued.
The little girl remained upbeat for her fourth birthday celebration the following day, even though she had experienced a terrifying accident the day before that required emergency surgery. “Happy birthday to Ava Sue, my darling.” Alfonso posted on Instagram, “Ava had a very difficult week, as some of you know.” “I’m so proud of her for handling everything so nicely. She is really bold, forceful, and imaginative. Everything about my beautiful girl is wonderful.
On May 12, the Kare MD Skin Health team posted a happy birthday message for Ava on their Instagram page.
“I appreciate your warm remarks, [Alfonso]. It is such an honor for us to look after your lovely princess Ava. Warmest regards for a swift recuperation,” they captioned the photo.
I think we can all agree that it’s always terrifying when one of our babies is harmed. I’m happy to hear that Alfonso and Angela’s child is doing well.
Right now, Ava seems to be recovering well. Alfonso’s Instagram appears to have the most recent updates, which indicate that she has fully recovered. It is reassuring to observe!
