Bradley Cooper rarely speaks about his life with his little girl Lea, but he recently opened up about how losing his dad in his arms made an impact on his fatherhood.

Famous for his parts in “The Hangover,” “A Star Is Born,” and “Silver Linings Playbook,” Bradley Cooper is a devoted father to his 6-year-old daughter.

He recently discussed how his parenting style changed as a result of his father’s passing.

Cooper co-parents his daughter with his ex after the two of them split up, and he acknowledged that becoming a father has transformed his life.

Actor Bradley Cooper of “American Sniper” never talks about his parenting approach or his 6-year-old daughter Lea. He enjoys keeping his lone child private.

But he came to some significant realizations after witnessing his father pass away in his arms, which prompted him to talk about his relationship with his child. He talked candidly about how his father’s passing altered his life and how it influenced his own fatherhood.

In a segment from the second season of “Running Wild With Bear Grylls: The Challenge,” Cooper talked about how much he missed his late father and how, for a while after his death, he had a “nihilistic attitude.”

The actor acknowledged that his circumstances improved as he quickly came to terms with who he was and what was going on. When asked how his father’s relationship had affected his parenting, the actor said:

“Well, you learn from the mistakes of your forebears, and I’ll make a ton of mistakes that hopefully Lea will learn from, and then I’ll be strict with myself to grow.”
How Did Bradley Get to Be Such a Tight, Involved Father?

Cooper started dating Irina Shayk in 2015, but the two avoided the spotlight together by not doing many public appearances. They kept their secret when they welcomed their daughter, Lea, in March 2017.

An informant who talked to E! News claimed that the couple was “extremely thrilled” and “blessed” to have their child. But by 2019, they had split up quietly, and rumors of their split had spread. They chose to co-parent their young daughter after their divorce and maintained communication. Cooper and Shayk, who live a few blocks apart, work together to raise their daughter.

Regarding her ex’s role as a father, the Russian model said, “He’s a full-on, hands-on dad — no nanny.” She called their parenting style “very strict,” adding that Lea is taught to constantly say “please” and “thank you” or she won’t get what she wants, as well as to clean up the table after meals.

Lea must spend time with one parent when the other is away because her parents divorced, but Shayk isn’t concerned. She even revealed that Cooper had taken Lea on a two-week trip during which time she “didn’t call them once.”

How Did Lea Significantly Alter Her Father?

Cooper changed the moment he became a father for the first time. He acknowledged that having “a wonderful human being” as a parent had completely transformed his life. It opened his eyes to a new world he had never known existed.

The “American Hustle” star claimed in a pre-divorce interview that he had “always dreamed of” being a father and starting a family, and that such experiences had “opened” him up and taught him to live in the present.

Cooper has encountered a wide range of individuals over his thriving acting career. He discovered via interacting with them how a person’s upbringing affects their personality.

He acknowledged the value of excellent parenting after saying he could “see it in them” whether or not they had a happy upbringing. With the intention of providing the ideal upbringing for his child, he stated, “I just want her to feel loved.”

Cooper found a new meaning in joy after becoming a father, which he likened to having a “breakthrough with the script.” He disclosed that he experiences that feeling several times a day while he is with his kid.

When Cooper appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ show in 2019, he talked candidly about how becoming a father affected his life. In response to DeGeneres’ question about how becoming a father affected his life, he stated:

“It gave me the freedom to accept my innocent self without worrying about being judged.”

Cooper continued, saying he doesn’t feel like he is wasting his time when he plays with toys and watches cartoons with his child. Having Lea around makes him happy, something he had never done before becoming a father.
