In May 2022, the highly anticipated sequel to the classic movie Top Gun was finally released.Top Gun: Maverick, which outperformed the original movie both critically and commercially, was released 36 years after we first saw Tom Cruise as Lieutenant Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, a teenage naval aviator stationed on the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise.
Many people were happy to see the original actors return to most of the roles, including Val Kilmer as Lt. Tom “Iceman” Kazansky.
Kilmer endured a number of significant problems in the previous years.
Kilmer lost his natural voice after surgery for throat cancer in 2015. That I had one, he responded when asked what he actually missed about his previous voice. That I didn’t squeal with laughter.”
He is regrettably still experiencing side effects from the cancer therapy.
Kilmer was scheduled to appear in Willow’s Disney+ relaunch, reprising his 1988 performance, but his health prohibited him from doing so.
Regarding the filming of Top Gun: Maverick, Kilmer expressed his excitement about reuniting with Tom Cruise and remarked that his meeting him “was like no time had passed at all.”
It appeared that Jack and Mercedes Kilmer, the actor’s children, were the most delighted of all his fans to witness their beloved perform in the cult action movie.
“Finally allowed to post these pics from the @topgunmovie set,” his daughter wrote along with photos she had taken on set. “Maverick, get out!”
The children of the Heat star have already posted pictures of themselves with their well-known father. What’s more is how strikingly similar Jack and young Val seem.
It is always enjoyable to see our favorite stars spending quality time with their families.
